Hello Reader(s)

Hope you are having a great week. For today, I want to share Nigerian music with you all. Nigerians outside Nigeria are doing wonderful things that ought to be noted. The Nigerian Entertainment as of today is unstoppable and incredible… everyone’s stepping up and doing it BIG. I want to introduce you to 5 beautiful Nigerian women. Let's start of with Kween.

Kween is a beautiful female Nigerian/UK artist. She won the best female video award at the Sound city Video Awards for her song (Jebele). I heard the song on myspace and I think it's beautiful. her website is still under construction but it is accessible. Check out her Myspace and Website

One paper wrapped prawn short of a dumpling... Chioma finds talking about herself in the third person amusing, but not as amusing as when an old man dropped his umbrella one day and took so long trying to pick it up that a bus ran over it. Then she felt guilty... that she'd been watching the scene unfold instead of helping him - and like all those old wives tales warned in her childhood - she froze that way: guilt ridden for the rest of her days... Poetry is the way in which she exorcises this guilt from time to time - until someone convinced her she could sing and suggested she try putting some poetry down to music. So she did, and this is some of what manifested. Check her out on Myspace

Fusing a mélange of pop, soul, folk, R&B, rock, British- Nigerian singer/song writer is bridging the gap between a plethora of genres on her album. She featured on the front page cover of MIMI Magazine for March 2008, essence magazine for April 2008 and Black Beat Magazine in this month (June 200 . Adama is a beautiful, humble songstress. One you’d be proud to associate with. Her music can be viewed on her Myspace and her Website

According to fans, Annette another female Nigerian artist (born in port Harcourt) possesses the vocal range of Mary Mary and combines that with the effervescent style of Beyonce while still maintaining enough originality not to loose her identity in the shadows of her predecessors. Check out her  Myspace to know more

The Nigerian German writer Olumide Popoola, born 1975 in Neuss, is part of a burgeoning African German cultural scene. As a poet she weaves her different voices into complex, politically charged spoken-word performances. Her themes are political conflict and issues of national identity, but also experiences of space and of healing. She has performed internationally as a solo artist and in ensemble collaborating with musicians, visual and performance artists and other poets. Her deliverance is inspired by different forms of expression such as Hip Hop, Jazz Poetry and African story telling traditions. Check out her Myspace and Website
