Happy Thursday to you all
I cannot wait until saturday to witness the union of titi and nathan. May the lord's name be gloried.
Sometimes last year, my choir master picked me up to go worship. On the way to church, he played a CD and said the artist was his elder brother. I was marveled at the first track because I had not heard the "talking drum" in a while.
I fell in love with a particular track titled He'll see you a through. To quote a few words from the song
"What is happening to me? Why am I feeling this way? Is there someone out there who cares to know just how much I'm hurting? In spite of all my pain, I know God's still there. Why should I forget his promise to me?....."
He (the artist) then goes on to talk about how God will see you through regardless of how tough the situation is... just powerful.
The artist is Babatunji Dada
short form Tunji Dada- an accomplished pianist, songwriter, audio engineer, music producer and artist. He was born and raised in the oil rich (5th largest world producer), West African nation of Nigeria. Nigeria is the most populous black nation and one of most culturally diverse nations in the world. He started out his musical career in 1985, when he became the teenage church pianist/organist. His first musical mentor was his father, who was then the local church's choir director/conductor.
Since then, he's had many opportunities to teach, direct and accompany many musical groups. He always been passionate about developing people, an attitude that made him leave positive influences on the people he's worked with. Tunji produced his first album in 1992, he has since had the opportunity of working with many artists in Nigera and in the UK.

Hear his music on MYSPACE and be blessed.

Every so often an iconic figure emerges – one that needs no deliberate branding or over-stated introductions. This notion is totally expressed in the unforgettable Four Kornerz experience.
Since bursting onto the music scene in 2004 (when the band got signed by UB1 Music management), Four Kornerz has established itself as one of the
The band’s ability to embrace a variety of musical sounds from Funk, R&B, Soul and Jazz to more traditional Nigerian rhythms from their homeland – has all contributed to what many see as a unique and refreshing approach to music delivery.
But it’s in the powerful backdrop of Gospel music that the band has honed its craft thanks to a strong Church upbringing and a genuine appreciation for the music form.
FOUR KORNERZ

I for one love Gospel and I do not hesitate to showcase talent when I see it. I love these brothers and their music. I get overwhelmed with joy when I see young people doing church music. Hope I get to meet these wonderful children of God... Fore more info on Four Kornez , check MYSPACE and WEBSITE
TEXAS YOUTH ON THE FRONTLINE

Today is Father's Day and I want to say Happy Father's Day to all the daddies and the future fathers. May you continue to be a blessing and a source of joy unto your family and loved ones.
Dad & I. many years back..

It's amazing when you compare this day to mother's day. I was at church today and we (choristers) were to sing something special for the fathers. If it wasn't for improvision, we'll probably be there with nothing... think about it, you can name about 5 songs for mothers on the spot; while it takes time to even think of one for the fathers. Singers, Song writers,... try to come up with something for the fathers. Some of them are still whom they need to be - responsible, caring, reliable and there for their own.
At times we fail to appreciate something good when it's right in front of us. My father and I were the best of buddies while i was little, we still are. Things are sorta different it's kind of hard for dad to see his little girl being an adult. I have been contemplating on writing this post and I concluded that I will because of my encounter with my friend.
She came to my office and saw my cell phone. She was curious about the price and I told her my dad got it for me. She goes "you're blessed."
I was astonished and I asked her why she said so, she replied
" I asked you how you got your current car about a year ago, you said your dad bought it for you. When I asked you about your laptop, you said the same thing. Now your phone....I wish my dad was here to buy me all I need. Too bad he's in ghana."
I had nothing to defend but to thank her and wish her family the best. It dawned on me that I was indeed blessed to have all the things I had without paying a dime from my pocket.
I remember how mum used to tease me back in Nigeria. Even though I wasn't the first or last child, I was daddy's pet. She said I use to follow you to work everyday (Nigeria is quite different from America). Mum would pack my diapers, flask, wipes, cerelac and feeding bottle in a bag....your younger colleagues were almost always fighting to look after me. One day, mum asked me if I was going to follow you to work and I said "No."
She said it was because you and I had an accident on your way to work. We fell off the okada..thank God we were not injured. She said I was like "heavens no" when it was time to go work the next day... I laugh every time she tells the story because I was young (about 2 or 3 perhaps 4) and I don't recall the occurence at all.
Mum will never stop talking about the last time I visited our village. She said I was 2 at the time and she intended to spend a week with grandma. She left for the village on friday and had to return to Lagos the next day because I wouldn't stop crying. She said I cried and chanted "daddy!" "I want my daddy" the whole night. No one slept through out the night; she was forced to return to the city because I wouldn't stop crying.
I want to thank you for the days you saved me from getting spanked by mum. I want to thank you for spoiling me with goodies. I want to thank you for buying me my first track gear (adidas jumper, shorts, spikes..). I want to thank you for lovely childhood memories.. Thank you for being there!
Although we're not as close as we used to be, I'm thankful to God for you Dad and I pray we be the best of friends as we grow older.

Hello Reader(s)
Hope you are having a great week. For today, I want to share Nigerian music with you all. Nigerians outside Nigeria are doing wonderful things that ought to be noted. The Nigerian Entertainment as of today is unstoppable and incredible… everyone’s stepping up and doing it BIG. I want to introduce you to 5 beautiful Nigerian women. Let's start of with Kween.

Kween is a beautiful female Nigerian/UK artist. She won the best female video award at the Sound city Video Awards for her song (Jebele). I heard the song on myspace and I think it's beautiful. her website is still under construction but it is accessible. Check out her Myspace and Website

One paper wrapped prawn short of a dumpling... Chioma finds talking about herself in the third person amusing, but not as amusing as when an old man dropped his umbrella one day and took so long trying to pick it up that a bus ran over it. Then she felt guilty... that she'd been watching the scene unfold instead of helping him - and like all those old wives tales warned in her childhood - she froze that way: guilt ridden for the rest of her days... Poetry is the way in which she exorcises this guilt from time to time - until someone convinced her she could sing and suggested she try putting some poetry down to music. So she did, and this is some of what manifested. Check her out on
